Product features

Knauf Betokontakt is a technologically advanced primer, formulated using a combination of plastic dispersions and quartz sand. Its most important feature is its high resistance to alkaline agents – thanks to this, the product guarantees the stability of the bonding layer even under difficult chemical conditions of the substrate. Once dry, Betokontakt forms a rough texture which acts as a bonding bridge, drastically increasing the bond strength of the plaster to a smooth surface. The key properties of Knauf’s Betokontakt primer include:

high vapour permeability: The wall retains its ability to „breathe”, which prevents moisture build-up.

safe storage: The product is solvent-free, environmentally friendly and safe for the health of the applicator.

ready for use: Once mixed, the compound is ready for application straight away, which saves time on site.

application control: Its distinctive red colour makes it easier to apply an even coat over the entire surface without leaving any „bare” patches.

excellent texture: The product adheres very well to ceilings and walls, minimising annoying dripping.

When should Knauf Betokontakt be used?

The main purpose of Knauf’s Betokontakt is the professional preparation of smooth, non-absorbent concrete substrates for machine-applied and hand-applied plastering. The product is an indispensable solution for concrete elements cast on-site, precast reinforced concrete elements and smooth filigree-type ceilings. This product forms the foundation of Knauf’s system solutions designed for gypsum plasters, ensuring a durable bond with the substrate and protecting them from efflorescence. Where can you use Betokontakt?

Smooth concrete: Ideal for compacted substrates with low water absorption, where standard primers fail.

Work inside buildings: designed for use in residential, office and industrial interiors.

For use under gypsum plaster: an essential element when applying plasters such as MP 75, Goldband or Rotband.

Refurbishments and new developments: It works well both in modern construction and when repairing old concrete.

Knauf Betokontakt 20 kg.
