The priming method depends on the type of substrate: plasterboard and gypsum plasters require the use of Knauf Universalgrund, followed by Knauf Putzgrund; layers reinforced with fibreglass mesh (after a minimum of 3 days) and concrete and cement-lime plasters (after a minimum of 28 days, moisture content ≤ 4%) — Knauf Putzgrund in a colour matching the plaster.

The contents of the container must be mixed thoroughly and the colour checked before application. Plastering work on a single, defined surface must be carried out continuously, without interruptions — this ensures a uniform texture and colour of the finish. Apply the mixture evenly with a stainless steel trowel to the specified grain thickness, then smooth it with a steel or plastic trowel before the surface begins to dry out. Work should be carried out at temperatures between +5°C and +20°C, in dry conditions, away from walls exposed to strong sunlight.
