Knauf CONNI S Baranek – silicone textured render for façades
Are you looking for a facade plaster that will retain its vibrant colour for years, resist dirt build-up and effectively repel damp and frost? Knauf CONNI S Baranek is a top-class silicone textured plaster — ready to use, available in a wide range of colours and proven in the harshest weather conditions. The distinctive „lambskin” texture gives the façade a timeless, elegant look, whilst the advanced silicone formula ensures the building looks fresh for many seasons without the need for renovation.
What is Knauf CONNI S Baranek and what makes it stand out?
Knauf CONNI S Baranek is made from a carefully selected mixture of a water-based silicone dispersion, marble aggregates and mineral fillers. It is available in four grain sizes — 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 mm — allowing the texture to be precisely tailored to the character of the building and the client’s expectations. The finer the grain, the more subtle the texture; the coarser the grain, the more pronounced and expressive the surface.
Silicone technology guarantees exceptional colour retention. The pigments do not fade when exposed to UV light, and the plaster surface has self-cleaning properties — dirt is washed away by the rain before it has a chance to set. What’s more, Knauf CONNI S Baranek is fully vapour-permeable, which means that walls can „breathe” freely, without the risk of moisture building up inside the wall cavity.
Where is Knauf CONNI S Baranek plaster best suited?
This product has been designed for demanding external façades — both on new-build and refurbished buildings. Knauf CONNI S Baranek is ideal as a façade render in Knauf Thermo ETICS insulation systems using polystyrene boards, as well as on insulation made from mineral wool. It is suitable for concrete substrates and traditional cement-lime plasters.
This product is particularly recommended in situations where longevity and minimal maintenance are key:
- detached and terraced houses — as a durable, attractive finish for the façade,
- public buildings — schools, government offices, commercial premises, where the façade must withstand heavy use,
- buildings with a timber structure — in the Knauf Thermo Wood and Knauf Thermo W Wood systems,
- renovations and thermal insulation — as a top-up layer in the Knauf Thermo Duo and Knauf Thermo Duo W systems, where the existing insulation requires improved thermal performance.
Knauf CONNI S Baranek – features that make all the difference
Knauf CONNI S Baranek silicone plaster combines everything a modern façade requires:
- Resistance to microorganisms — fungi, algae and moulds do not colonise surfaces,
- Colour fastness — advanced UV-resistant pigments that do not fade for years,
- High water repellency — water runs off the surface without penetrating the plaster,
- Vapour permeability — the walls can breathe, without the risk of damp,
- Self-cleaning properties — the façade remains clean without any additional maintenance,
- Flexibility and resistance to changing weather conditions — the plaster does not crack when there are sudden changes in temperature,
- Good adhesion and a long open time — comfortable working conditions for plastering teams,
- Ready to use — without the need to mix it with other ingredients.
Colour range and available grain sizes
Knauf CONNI S Baranek is available in all colours from the Knauf Classic ’04 range, and, on special request, also in colours not included in the standard colour chart. The product is available in grain sizes of 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 mm, in handy 25 kg buckets. This makes it possible to perfectly match the texture and colour to any architectural project — from a delicate, modern finish to a distinctive, classic lambskin texture.
If the colour of the plaster needs to be evened out after application, it is possible to paint it with Knauf Silicone Levelling Paint — no earlier than 7 days after the plaster has been applied.
How do you prepare the substrate and apply Knauf CONNI S Baranek plaster?
Before application, the substrate must be sound, dry, clean and free from dust, oil and other substances that impair adhesion. Layers reinforced with fibreglass mesh (after a minimum of 3 days), as well as concrete and cement-based-lime plasters (after a minimum of 28 days, moisture content ≤ 4%) must be primed with Knauf Putzgrund in a colour matching that of the plaster.
The contents of the bucket must be mixed thoroughly before use, ensuring that the production batch number is consistent — this guarantees a uniform colour across the entire surface. If necessary, the consistency can be adjusted slightly with clean water (up to 1%). The plaster is applied with a stainless steel trowel to the thickness of the grain, and the „lambskin” texture is formed using a plastic trowel. Work should be carried out at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C, in dry conditions, avoiding strong sunlight and wind. Fresh render must be protected from rain for at least 24 hours, and in conditions of high humidity and low temperatures — for up to 3 days.
Why choose Knauf CONNI S Baranek?
Knauf CONNI S Baranek is a tried-and-tested, certified solution for developers and contractors who do not wish to compromise on the quality of their façade. By choosing Knauf CONNI S Baranek, you are investing in a façade that will protect your building for decades to come, whilst delighting the eye with its vibrant colour and flawless texture.
