Methods of use on site
Knauf Fill & Finish 20kg is a ready-to-use, lightweight filling compound for finishing work on plasterboard and mineral surfaces – such as skim coats, gypsum plasters, cement-lime plasters, concrete or old, painted walls.
- Applying paper tape to the joints between plasterboard panels – particularly at the edges of HRAK panels that have previously been filled with filler (e.g. Uniflott).
- Fitting metal-and-paper corner profiles – for an attractive and durable finish to corners and edges.
- Full-surface, thin-layer skim-coating of plasterboard – to achieve a uniform, even surface on walls and ceilings.
- A topcoat for delicate and scratch-prone surfaces – when you want a polished finish and easier handling once dry.
App
The compound is applied by hand or by machine in layers up to 3 mm thick. Subsequent layers are only applied once the previous ones have dried. Once set, the surface is sanded with #180-#220 sandpaper and then primed before further finishing, e.g. painting.
