- Breathable fabric – high water vapour diffusion, a healthy microclimate
- Water-repellent rock wool core – consistent thermal insulation even in damp conditions
- CE and PEFC certification – required for public procurement and tenders
- Beveled edges – a tight joint without thermal bridges
- Available in a version factory-painted with silicate paint – ready for display
Fire safety requirements in public buildings – why is Class A2 important?
Polish and European building regulations (Regulation on technical requirements, Eurocodes) require designers to use non-combustible or flame-retardant materials in buildings such as schools, hospitals, community centres, shopping centres and multi-storey car parks. Fire resistance class A2-s1,d0 This means that Tektalan® A2 037/02 does not contribute to the spread of fire, does not produce smoke (s1) and does not produce burning droplets (d0). This is precisely why this product features in construction projects wherever the building inspector and the fire safety expert have the final say.
Where is the Tektalan A2 037/02 sheet used?
Schools and universities
Insulation of ceilings and walls in educational buildings – meets fire safety requirements and improves the acoustics of classrooms
Hospitals and clinics
Non-flammable, microorganism-resistant material – required in healthcare facilities with enhanced hygiene standards
Underground garages
Insulation of multi-storey and underground garage ceilings – Class A2 meets the requirements of the fire safety expert.
Offices and shopping centres
Acoustic and thermal insulation of the interiors of commercial premises subject to stringent fire safety requirements.
Industrial buildings
Insulation for plant rooms and production halls – mechanical and fire resistance in one
Home cinemas and studios
High sound absorption coefficient αw of up to 0.95 – excellent sound insulation for rooms
Three functions in one panel – saving time and money on site
🌡️ Thermal insulation
The rock wool core (λ = 0.037 W/mK) provides an effective thermal barrier – warmth in winter, coolness in summer
🔇 Sound insulation
Wood wool absorbs sound with an αw value of up to 0.95 – ensuring a quiet environment in an office, classroom or doctor’s surgery
🔥 Fire safety.
Class A2-s1,d0 – does not burn, does not produce smoke, does not drip. Meets the fire safety requirements for public buildings

Tektalan® A2 037/02 This is the choice for those who cannot afford to compromise. A single non-combustible wood wool insulation board that simultaneously provides fire protection (A2-s1,d0), thermal insulation and sound absorption (αw up to 0.95). Used in schools, hospitals, shopping centres and underground car parks – wherever fire safety requirements and design standards set the bar highest.
Frequently Asked Questions – Tektalan A2 037/02
Does Tektalan A2 037/02 meet the fire safety requirements for public buildings?
Yes. Tektalan® A2 037/02 has a fire reaction class A2-s1,d0 in accordance with EN 13501-1 – the highest possible rating for composite materials. This means that the product does not contribute to the spread of fire, does not produce smoke (s1) and does not produce burning droplets or particles (d0). It meets the requirements for materials used in schools, hospitals, shopping centres, cinemas and multi-storey car parks in accordance with Polish and European building regulations.
Why do designers include Tektalan A2 037/02 in their design documentation?
Tektalan® A2 037/02 combines three functions in a single product: thermal insulation, acoustic insulation and fire protection. For the designer, this means simpler documentation – a single product with a single CE marking, a single technical data sheet and a single fire classification, rather than several separate insulation layers. This is particularly important for projects carried out through a tender process for public institutions.
Can Tektalan A2 037/02 be used in an underground car park?
Yes – this is one of the product’s main applications. Underground and multi-storey car parks require materials with a high fire resistance rating. Tektalan® A2 037/02, classified as A2-s1,d0, meets the requirements of a fire safety assessor and allows the product to be used on garage ceilings and walls without the need for additional fire protection measures.
What is the difference between wood wool and rock wool in Tektalan panels?
Tektalan® A2 037/02 is a two-layer board. The top layer (12 mm), made of cement-bound wood wool, provides excellent sound absorption, heat retention, natural breathability and an attractive appearance. The core, made of Knauf Insulation stone wool, ensures adequate thermal insulation (λ = 0.037 W/mK) and the non-combustibility of the entire system.
In what thicknesses is Tektalan A2 037/02 available?
The board is available in the following thicknesses 50, 75, 100, 125, 150 and 175 mm, which allows you to select the appropriate thermal resistance to meet the project’s requirements. The standard dimensions are 995 × 595 mm. Straight edges, overlapping edges and surfaces painted with silicate paint are available to order.
Can Tektalan A2 037/02 be used as a finish for a visible surface?
Yes. The natural texture of cement-bound wood wool is aesthetically pleasing and can be left as a visible finishing layer. Panels with a surface pre-painted at the factory with silicate paint in colours from the RAL colour chart are available to order.
