Condensed primer – Knauf Grundiermittel 60

A concentrated primer based on a synthetic resin dispersion with high resistance to alkaline environments. Designed for priming absorbent mineral surfaces inside buildings. It evens out the absorbency of the substrate, prevents gypsum plasters from delaminating and significantly improves the durability of the plaster finish. Knauf Grundiermittel 60 primer is a system solution for Knauf gypsum plasters. It holds a Hygiene Certificate and an EMICODE® certificate in the highest EC1 PLUS class.

Where and when should Knauf Grundiermittel 60 primer be used?

Knauf Grundiermittel 60 primer is mainly used for priming absorbent and porous mineral substrates indoors, prior to applying gypsum plaster or fixing plasterboard. It can also be used to prime substrates made of: aerated concrete blocks, bricks, ceramic and silicate hollow blocks, and cement-bonded particle boards.

It is designed for use in: residential buildings, public buildings, offices, healthcare and educational establishments, commercial and retail premises, and many others. It can be applied to walls, ceilings and floors. It is worth noting that, once dry, Knauf Grundiermittel 60 forms a vapour-permeable primer layer which not only stabilises and evens out the substrate but also extends the setting time of the plaster, making it significantly easier to work with. Thanks to the use of modern modifying fillers, this product effectively prevents delamination and cracking of the plaster finish, ensuring the durability of the finish even on difficult, porous mineral substrates. Furthermore, the product’s yellow colouring throughout allows progress to be monitored on an ongoing basis, ensuring that the entire surface has been protected prior to the next stages of the project.

How do you use Knauf Grundiermittel 60?

Depending on the absorbency of the substrate, dilute the product with water in a ratio of 1:1 to 1:3. Once mixed, Knauf Grundiermittel 60 primer can be applied to the prepared substrate using a roller, brush or spray. Apply it thoroughly and evenly. When priming, the temperature of the product, the substrate and the ambient air should be at least +5°C. Please note that the primer must not be mixed with any other substances, and the residual moisture content of the substrate on which you intend to use it must not exceed 3%.
