Silicone for bonding tiles – properties and uses
Silicone is an essential material in tiling systems, used primarily to seal the joints between tiles. Knauf’s tile silicone is highly flexible – this allows it to compensate for minor movements in the substrate and tiles, preventing them from cracking. Thanks to their resistance to moisture, temperature fluctuations and chemicals, Knauf silicones are ideal for bonding tiles both indoors in rooms such as bathrooms and kitchens, and outdoors on terraces, balconies and façades. This product ensures a strong bond between the tiles and the substrate, whilst also providing protection against moisture and water. Silicone for outdoor tiles is resistant to weather conditions such as rain, snow and temperature fluctuations. Regardless of their application, these products always ensure a durable installation, protecting the grout and preventing it from being damaged by excessive moisture.
